Removing jammed paper from Tray 1
When a paper is jammed, the indicator light on your printer’s control panel will start to blink. Remove the jammed paper by following the below instructions.
- Remove Tray 1 from your printer.
- Now, inside the printer, look for the jammed paper.
- If you find any, remove it gently using your hands.
- After removing the jammed paper, reinsert Tray 1 and print a test page to check whether the paper feed problem is resolved.
If the paper is not feeding again, look for the jammed paper in other parts such as Tray 2, front area, duplex area of the printer and remove it. Ensure that you’re using the paper type that is recommended by the printer manufacturer.
HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 rectification for the print problem
As the first step of troubleshooting the print problem, check whether your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 printer is turned on. If not, turn it on. If your printer is already turned on, restart it to fix the print problem.
- Check if any error message is displayed on your printer display. If yes, clear it, and then perform the print operation.
- Make sure that your printer is not paused or set to offline mode.
- Check and set your printer as the default printer on your computer.

- If you’re facing a print problem with your Windows computer, restart the print spooler on it to fix it.
- Clean the print queue if necessary.
- Restart the printer and your computer.
- If none of the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 rectification processes resolve the print problem, reset the printer.
- Turn on your printer if necessary.
- Now, unplug the electrical cable from your printer and the power outlet. (Make sure that you’ve unplugged the cable while the printer is turned on).
- Leave the printer disconnected from the power source for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the cable and turn on your printer.
